The Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange will begin trading steel futures today

back to the News

The Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX) will begin trading steel futures today, a move industry experts said would allow buyers to better manage their price risk in a volatile market.

DGCX chairman Colin Griffith said the contract is open to all international companies and investors. He said it will "lead to best price discovery for Dubai rebar," which is relevant to the European and Asian long product steel market.

The DGCX Steel Rebar Futures Contract provides coverage of physical steel, the exchange said. It approved two new firms whose products meet Dubai rebar specifications in case physical deliveries are made.
