Gold and silver are rising in London |

Gold quotations were gaining a foothold at Tuesday bidding, but traders expected further volatility. The market is searching for a new footing as the price of gold reached a 25-year high at $645 an ounce recently and follows up closely the state of things on currency and oil markets. The price of silver is also growing, overcoming $12,00 an ounce. Traders fear the market instability can lead to a sharp turn on pricing of all precious metals. "The prices are stable currently, but (volatility) can come back at any moment. If somebody starts selling, we will fall very quickly," says a trader.
The spot price of gold made $626,60/ 627,60 an ounce against $622,80/623,80 in USA at 14.57 Moscow time on Monday. "I think people on these levels lost orientation,” said Ellison Chu from the Standard Bank Asia. “There exists some physical demand on silver and gold, but it is not very high."
Quotations of "the yellow metal" varied within $20 an ounce on Monday in comparison to average $27 variation during the three previous trading sessions. Standard Bank said that prices of gold could level off at $620 with a support value within $600/612 due to rash growth in a short time and a next following strong adjustment.
Among other metals the spot price of silver made $12,41/12,51 an ounce compared to $11,86/11,96 in New York.
Platinum rose from $1.118/1.123 to $1.123/1.128 the day before.
The price of palladium rose from $353/358 to $355/360.
